BEDFORD – Lawrence County Highway Department continues to pave and patch roadways, mow, and replace culverts before the 2022 paving projects begin.
“We have a few small paving projects we have to finish up and then when crews are not paving they will be doing some patching,” said Holmes during the commissioners meeting Tuesday morning.
The contract between the county and the consulting firm for Bridge 172 on Cement Plant Road is complete and will be reviewed by County Attorney David Smith before being signed.
Work is stalled on Bridges 150 on Mill Creek Road.
“We are in limbo for right now due to some right of way issues,” added Holmes.
Holmes says the county should hear if it is awarded a Community Crossing grant on November 3. If awarded, the funds will be used to replace Bridge 138 on East Oolitic Road and for 2022 paving projects.
