Annabel Fields


December 19, 1918 – October 20, 2021

Annabel Fields, 102, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born December 19, 1918, in Clay Co., IN, she was the daughter of William and Fannie (Chastain) Taylor. She married Paul Fields on November 9, 1935, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2003. She had worked as a cook for 15 years for Oolitic Schools and was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, William D. Fields, and wife, Wilma, of Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Judith Fields, of Oolitic; two
grandsons, Scott Fields, and wife, Dana, of Greenwood and Garrick Fields and wife, Marsha, of Oolitic; two granddaughters, Lisa Tran and husband, Quang, and Kristin Wintin and husband Frank, all of Bedford; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Wilbur Fields, a brother, John Taylor, four sisters, Opal Dale Mullis, Imogene Crane, Vernell Rainey, and Hildred Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rick Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until
the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
