Drive-by shooter injures southern Indiana man sitting in own home

PETERSBURG — A Pike County man was injured Thursday morning in a drive-by shooting, according to Indiana State Police.

Around 2 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 3900 block of West River Road in Petersburg on reports of a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers found Corey Underhill, 48, with a gunshot wound to the back. Police determined that Underhill had been shot while sitting inside his home. Several other rounds had also been fired into Underhill’s residence.

Underhill was transported to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

Indiana State Police and Pike County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the shooting.
