Should the council approve the increase, all full-time employees will receive the raise. Seasonal and part-time employees and city council members will be excluded from the raise increase.

The council took the request under consideration.

John Carl Isom, of Backyard Barber Shop along with Cody Dobner, and Matt Judah, of Speakeasy Pizza were approved to sell beer at the barbershop property at 206 South 6th Street on Friday and Saturday during the Persimmon Festival. Beer will be served from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Isom explained two off-duty police officers will be at the location to check identification and manage the perimeter during the event. There also will be barriers to prevent anyone from getting past the security checks. An armband will be given to those individuals once the age has been verified. Carry out beverages will not be permitted or allowed.

The group will apply for a permit from the State of Indiana.

The next scheduled meeting will be September 7, 2021, at the Mitchell City Town Hall in the Council Chambers.
