Stolen vehicles and drugs located during ISP investigation

WASHINGTON CO. –  On Monday, investigators from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section (DES), the Sellersburg Post All Crimes Policing squad (ACP), and the Salem Police Department, made several arrests after conducting a search on a rural Washington County property.  

The investigation began when a DES investigator received information of a possible wanted person hiding at a home in the 1970 block of South Blue River Road near Salem.

As part of the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant which they served on Monday around 9:30 a.m.

After officers arrived, 55-year-old Terry R. Daffron, of New Albany, ran out the back door of a camper located in a wooded area on the property and attempted to flee into the woods.

ISP K9 “Riggs” was released and assisted in successfully apprehending Daffron a short time later. Daffron was wanted on several warrants, including a felony charge of rape out of Crawford County. 

Several other people were located on the property. Investigators also found a stolen camper, a stolen car, meth, and approximately a pound of marijuana.  

As a result of the investigation, investigators arrested the following people:

Terry Ray Daffron

Terry Ray Daffron, 55, of New Albany, was arrested on felony charges of possession of meth and possession of stolen property and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting law enforcement. He was also wanted on the following warrants in Crawford County on a felony charge of rape, in Clark County on a probation violation, maintaining a common nuisance, resisting law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, escape, domestic battery and intimidation.

Hannah Marie Rueff

Hannah Marie Rueff, 23, New Albany, was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property. 

Thomas A. Edwards

Thomas A. Edwards, 42, of Salem faces felony charges of possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of stolen property and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Megan Rae Thompson

Megan Rae Thompson, 36, of Salem, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of meth.
