BEDFORD – The 2021 Claude Akins Classic will be held on Labor Day weekend, September 4th -September 5th. This event has been a long-standing tradition for 25 years.
The tournament, hosted by the Bedford Recreation Foundation, is a first-class atmosphere to provide enjoyment along with raising funds to help enhance the quality of life in the community. The support of this fun and exciting event helps Bedford Recreation Foundation’s mission to support worthwhile projects and provide current and future generations a place to enjoy.
Over the last 25 years, more than $850,000 was raised with more than $700,000 donated to worthwhile projects throughout the Bedford Community.
Plans to support other major projects partnering with the City of Bedford include renovations of the greens on the front and back nine holes, tees and bunkers, renovations to the Otis Park bathhouse, and Jim Flick Indoor Practice facilities, and Red Brick Patio Renovations.
This year’s Claude Akins Golf Memorial Classic will have over $30,000 worth of prizes to be given away.
Two rounds will be played each day at 7:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Registration for the Sunday rounds are full and now are officially closed. However, the Saturday rounds still have a few availabilities to fill. To register your 6 man team contact Joe Elliot at 275-3363.
