Lawrence County Council to hear 2022 budget proposals Thursday night

LAWRENCE CO. – The Lawrence County Council will meet at 6:00 p.m to hear the proposed budgets for several county offices Thursday night.

The following departments’ budgets will be discussed Thursday night:

  • 6:10 p.m. Data Processing – $16,506,132.72
  • 6:15 p.m. Recorder – $131,380
  • 6:20 p.m. Surveyor – $105,571
    • Conerstone – $43,352
  • 6:25 Lawrence County Extension – $207,908
  • 6:35 Aviation – $138,700
  • 6:40 Lawrence County Health Department – $494,219
  • 6:45 Treasurer – $197,034
  • 6:50 Clerk – $ $350,525
    • Election – $107,450
    • Registration – $42,800
    • Clerk Record – $25,100
  • 6:55 Sheriff – $1,615,112
    • Jail – $2,058,872
    • CHIRP – $47,000
    • Public Safety – $1,225,594
    • Misdeamnor – $ 52,000
    • Sex & Violent Offender – $4,000
    • Central Dispatch – $533,646
    • Accident Investigation – $3,000

The 2022 budget is only proposed and not the actual budget. and most likely will change prior to a final vote. The final budget will be adopted on September 28, 2021.

Budget hearings will also occur on August 26, September 7, September 9, with a final run-through of the budget on September 14, and adoption of the budget on September 28, 2021.
