North Lawrence Community Schools will require masks inside of school buildings Tuesday

NLCS

BEDFORD – North Lawrence Community Schools will begin requiring masks inside of school buildings for students and staff regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status on Tuesday, August 17th through Friday, September 3, 2021.

According to Superintendent Ty Mungle, NLCS initially announced that masks were recommended for students and staff.

“However, after consultation with local health officials regarding the rise in positive COVID-19 cases and the number of students being quarantined in our schools, it is necessary to take this additional precaution,” Mungle added. “NLCS understands any decision concerning the pandemic is not popular for everyone.  Most importantly our goal is to keep children at school. By requiring all individuals to wear masks we can reduce the need to quarantine causing disruption to student learning and a negative impact on families’ ability to work.  With these additional precautions in place, and the continued tracking and monitoring of our data along with regular communication with our local health officials, NLCS will adjust our “Back to School” plan as needed. As always I appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate through this pandemic.”
