David Wire started his career 34 years ago and spent the entirety of his career at Putnamville Correctional. Wire started as an Officer, was an active E-Squad member for 4.5 years, and in 1991was promoted to the Office of Investigations and Intelligence (OII). Wire was eventually promoted to Investigator 3 with OII where he spent the remainder of his career. Warden Dushan Zatecky stated, “Wire was such an asset and left large shoes for us to fill, he will be missed.”

“It’s been a pleasure working with Wire from a custody standpoint as well as OII,” said Investigator Robert Evans. “Wire brought 30 years of experience in OII so there were few situations he has not experienced. He is a wealth of knowledge and his willingness to assist with whatever is needed makes this a great loss for the facility. We wish him well on his deserved retirement, but he will be missed.”

“I’m looking forward to spending time in the dojo instructing martial arts and enjoying life with my family,” Wire stated. “I realize I have had a blessed career, and I’m grateful for all the relationships I’ve made.”
