New leadership to take the helm at Monroe County Community Schools

BLOOMINGTON – New leadership will take the helm at Monroe County Community School Corporation when school begins on August 4th.

Welcome Matthew Stark, Principal at Bloomington High School North.

Matthew Starks

Stark has been principal of Brown County High School, as well as Urbana High School in Urbana, Illinois. He received his bachelor’s degree in history and a bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Purdue University. Mr. Stark later earned his master’s degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also received his Administrative Endorsement from Indiana State University.

Congratulations Aaron Ritter, Principal at Marlin Elementary School.

Aaron Ritter has most recently been an Assistant Principal at Tri-North Middle School. He has previously been Assistant Principal at Bedford-North Lawrence High School, Principal of Shawswick Elementary School in Bedford, Indiana, and Principal of Heltonville Elementary in Heltonville, Indiana. Mr. Ritter received his bachelor’s degree in English education from Indiana University. He later earned his master’s degree in educational leadership from Indiana University.

Congratulations Benjamin Jones, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Tri-North Middle School.

Benjamin Jones

Benjamin Jones has most recently been teaching at Arlington Heights Elementary School. He received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a bachelor’s degree in sport management from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. He later earned his MBA in educational leadership from Indiana University.

Jaime Burkhart has been serving as a Positive Behavior Support Assistant at Arlington Heights Elementary School. She has also taught at Summit Elementary and Batchelor Middle Schools. Ms. Burkhart received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and art history from Indiana University. She later earned her master’s degree in art education, master’s degree in elementary education, and master’s degree in library science from Indiana University. Ms. Burkhart completed her Principal Licensing Program through Indiana Wesleyan University.
