Learn about soil health and fertility at Bedford Park Outdoor Program Series event

BEDFORD – Richard Beckort from Purdue Extension-Jackson County will present on a topic covering many items related to soil health and fertility.

Beckort will provide information on soil health and fertility as it relates to lawns, gardens, and more for homeowners, gardeners, and horticultural enthusiasts.

Bring your questions because this horticulture specialist will be available to answer them during this FREE session.

The free event will be held on Tuesday, August 17th, and is part of the Bedford Park Outdoor Program Series. The program will be at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Concourse Building at 1402 H Street in Bedford.

Please RSVP by August 13 at 812-275-5692 so officials have enough handouts and chairs ready.

Also mark your calendar for September 28th for a program on Wildlife and Food Plot Management at the Otis Park Bath House. Conservation Resource Technician Whitney Baldwin, from Lawrence County Soil & Water Conservation, will be addressing the group and answering questions.

Though the park programs were canceled during 2020 and early 2021 due to concerns over COVID-19, the sponsors are glad to be once again offering this series of outdoor programs to the public.
