Bedford Parks Department offers Wilderness Ethics as part of their Park Outdoor series and more

BEDFORD – The Bedford Parks Department Recreation director Gary Dorsett gave an update on programs and events that are coming up.

  • Park Outdoor Series on Wilderness Ethics will be held on July 27th at the Otis Park Bath House. Speakers will be Mia Gilbert and Virginia Lauterback from the U.S. Forest Service. This is a free program series but you particpants are limited. Please call the parks department by July 23, 2021 if you plan to attend.

Ball Park Trips

  • Reds vs Twins August 3, 2021 7:00 p.m. the bus will depart Bedford at 3:30 p.m. at the parks department office
  • Reds vs Cardinals August 31, 6:40 p.m. the bus will depart Bedford at 6:40 p.m. at the parks department office the cost is $45 per person and transportation. Minium of 8 people must register at the Parks Department by calling 812-275-5692

This Saturday the Men’s USA Softball D. State Tournament will be played at Murray Forest Park

Fall Softball League registration is open entry fee is $475 for Men’s, Women’s, Church, and Co-Ed divisions. The entry deadline is August 4.

Bedford Park Director Jimmie Jones gave an update on projects that were completed throughout the park system. Trees were removed at Brookside Park. The project at Otis Park at the tee on 17 has also been completed.

Trey Turner won his second Men’s City Championship

Trey Turner won the Men’s City Championship at – 6. 1st Flight winner was Andrew Lafferty and 2nd Flight winner was Trevin Hutchinson. For more results on the tournament go to the Otis Park Facebook page.
