Mitchell man arrested after police find meth and syringe in his pockets

BEDFORD – A Mitchell man was arrested on drug charges after the vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped Saturday for a false or fictitious license plate.

The driver was stopped at State Road 37 and 5th Street.

The driver, Brittany Grissom told police she had been in rehab and did not have the money to properly plate her vehicle. 

There was a 2-year-old child in the back seat.

Brittany Grissom denied police permission to search her vehicle. She was written a citation for false or fictitious registration and a canine was requested to the scene.

Officers then spoke to her passenger, 42-year-old Trent Grissom who told police he was in possession of “a little bit of meth”.

In his pockets police found a plastic bag that contained two more plastic bags containing 4.32 grams of crystal meth and they also found a syringe.

Trent Grissom was arrested on charges of possession of meth in the presence of a minor and unlawful possession of a syringe.
