Linda Kay Longest, 74, of Mitchell, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at her residence.
Born December 1, 1946, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Virgil R. and Alice E. (Reece) Knight.
Linda was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of children.
Survivors include her children, Rebeca (Tony) George of Mitchell, Richard Bryan Longest of Mitchell, Melinda Hope (Billy) Edmonson of Mitchell, Eva Dicks of Mitchell; grandchildren, Christopher George, Kayla George, Austin Longest, Nicole, Allen, Destiny Edmonson, Marah Roop, and Davaney Roop; several step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Alanna Edmonson; siblings, Larry Knight of Mitchell, Bobbie Knight of Mitchell
Her parents; infant daughter, Susan Denise Longest; fathers of her children, Richard Longest and David Roop; long-time companion, William Edmonson; and siblings, Kenny Knight, Donnie Knight, and Judy Herald, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. The burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
