Drug arrest made after police catch her driving on a suspended license

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested Wednesday after a Bedford Police officer stopped her vehicle when they learned she was driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Angela Root

They stopped 46-year-old Angela Root’s vehicle on 22nd Street.

While speaking with Root she continued  shuffling through a stack of paperwork attempting to locate her vehicle registration even though the registration was on the top of the stack of papers.

Officers also detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle.

The officer asked Root for consent to search the vehicle and she allowed that request.

During the search officers found a bottle containing two baggies of meth.

Root was detained. She then admitted to having a marijuana “roach” in her cigarette pack.

Root was arrested on charges of possession of meth and marijuana and issued a citation for driving while driver’s license suspended.
