Seymour man arrested for child molestation

SEYMOUR – On April 14, 2021, patrol officers and investigators with the Seymour Police Department began an investigation of alleged child molestation.

Police learned a 20-year-old male was allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old female.

During the investigation, interviews were conducted. Some interviews were conducted at Susie’s Place, a child advocacy center n Bloomington. Susie’s Place is a location where victims and witnesses of various crimes are forensically interviewed.

As a result of the investigation, a Jackson Circuit Court warrant for child molestation was issued for 20-year-old Tyler Jolly Fisher, of Seymour.

On June 1, 2021, officers with the Seymour Police Department responded to a residence in the 600 block of Centennial Street in Seymour.

There, officers located Fisher hiding in a bedroom. Fisher was arrested without incident.

Fisher was transported to the Jackson County Jail where he was remanded into the custody of the jail staff.

On June 2, 2021, investigators with the Seymour Police Department conducted an interview with Fisher. During the interview, Fisher admitted to the crime.

The Seymour Police Department was assisted by the Indiana Department of Child Services and Susie’s Place.
