Lafayette man injured in an off-road vehicle accident in Montgomery County

CRAWFORDSVILLE – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road vehicle (ORV) accident that occurred Saturday evening.

At approximately 5:06 p.m., first responders were called to the area of the 2900 block of west Edinburgh Drive near Lake Holiday.

Preliminary investigation showed 25-year-old Dalton Baldwin, of Lafayette, was operating a dirt bike on the roadway when he lost control, causing him to leave the road and strike a landscaping wall.

Baldwin sustained severe injuries to both legs. He was flown via Stat Flight medical helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for further treatment.

The incident is still under investigation.

Baldwin was not wearing a helmet or any other safety gear at the time of the accident. Conservation officers remind everyone to always wear a helmet and protective riding gear when operating or riding an ORV.
