Overnight lane, ramp closures begin on I-65 at Scottsburg

SCOTT CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HydraTech Field Services plans to implement overnight lane and ramp closures on I-65 at Scottsburg (Exit 29) starting on or after Wednesday, June 2.

Beginning each night at 9 p.m., the right lane of I-65 northbound will close, in addition to the right auxiliary lane of I-65 southbound. The State Road 56 ramp to I-65 southbound will also close while work is in progress. All lanes and the S.R. 56 ramp will reopen by 6 a.m. each morning.

Under the closures, crews will perform repairs to the bridge piers on either side of the interstate.

S.R. 3 bridge work near Blocher

Also starting on or after Wednesday, June 2, crews will begin work at the S.R. 3 bridge located approximately one-half mile south of the north junction of S.R. 3 and S.R. 56 near Blocher. Work includes replacing bridge joints and repairs to the concrete bridge rail. The contractor will work under daytime lane closures with flagging through late June, weather permitting.

The $296,000 contract was awarded in October 2020 and also includes repairs at Ebenezer Church Road in Clark County. Motorists are reminded to slow down, use caution, and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
