MCCSC Summer Food Service Program begins today

BLOOMINGTON – Monroe County Community School and Community Kitchen work to ensure healthy meals for children while school is out for the summer. 

Beginning today through Tuesday, August 3, 2021, MCCSC and the Community Kitchen will distribute free lunch to children 18 and under at 14 locations. Lunches will potentially include fresh fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, milk, juice and snacks.

Meals will be distributed Monday through Friday at the following locations and times:

Route 1

Dorothy Apartments – 10:30 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.
Trailview Neighborhood -11:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Crestmont Community – 11:20 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. (Illinois Court)
Crestmont Community – 11:40 a.m. -11:55 a.m. (12th and Summit St.)
The Reserve at Chandler’s Glen – 12:00 p.m. – 12:20 p.m. (by the picnic shelter)
Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park – 12:30 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. (Behind office)

Route 2

  • Limestone Crossing – 10:30 a.m. -10:45 a.m. (playground area)
  • Highland Park Elementary – 11:00 a.m. -11:15 a.m. (900 S. Park Sq. Drive)
  • SouthCrest Manor- 11:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. (by the mailbox area)
  • Country View Apartments – 11:55 a.m. -12:10 p.m. (playground area)
  • Henderson Court Apartments-12:15 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. (playground area)
  • Walnut Woods- 12:40 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (playground area)

MCCSC Meal Pick-up locations (June 7, 2020 – July 15, 2021)

MCCSC will distribute free lunch Monday through Thursday (Thursday bags will include Friday’s meal) to children 18 years and under at the following locations and times:

  • Fairview Elementary (door 10) – 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.                
  • Templeton Elementary (door 7) – 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
