Two Bedford men arrested on drug charges

BEDFORD – Two Bedford men were arrested after a Bedford Police officer stopped a red Chevrolet Impala traveling north on 8th Street on Saturday for an equipment violation.

Jeffery Schneider

The driver was 22-year-old Jeffery Schneider and his passenger was 24-year-old Jackson Craig. Schneider told the officer his license was suspended.

Jackson Craig

Schneider was asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and Schneider told police there was marijuana in the center console.

During a search of the vehicle police found a metal socket with burnt marijuana in it. He also found a plastic container with a brown powder substance that tested positive for fentanyl and heroin and another crystal substance that tested positive for meth.

Schneider told police he knew nothing about the other drugs in the vehicle and they must be Craig’s.

Both men were arrested. In Schneider’s pocket, police found a baggie with crystal meth in his pocket.

Both men face charges of possession of a narcotic drug and possession of meth. Schneider is also facing a charge of operating a vehicle while driver’s license suspended with a prior conviction.
