4-H Animal ID Tag Day is Saturday, May 8th

BEDFORD – Saturday, May 8th is 4-H Livestock ID Day.

This is the day that animal identification tagging, weighing, and tattooing will take place at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

This excludes cats, dogs, horses, and poultry.

The animal ID requirements do NOT APPLY to Mini 4-H’ers if they are
showing another already identified 4-H’ers animal.

The schedule for the day includes:

  • 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Sheep at the Swine Barn
  • 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Rabbit Tattooing at the Rabbit Barn
  • 8 a.m.- 10 a.m. : Swine at the Show Arena
  • 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Beef Heifers in the back of the Cattle Barn
  • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Goats at the Swine Barn
  • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Dairy Steers and Dairy females at the back of the Cattle Barn

All animal exhibitors must have their animal identification information entered into 4HOnline by May 15. You also must have your Premise ID requested from the Board of Animal Health before then as well.
