James Richard Reef, 71, of Mitchell, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021
at 6:44 a.m. at his residence.
He was born in Lafayette on October 9, 1949, to James C. Reef and Corita A. (White) Reef. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1968. James married Sheila Ann Way on September 17, 1971, and she survives.
James is survived by his wife, Shelia Ann Reef, children, Shelley (Todd) Whitlock, Michael (Wendy) Reef, and Billi Jo (Daniel) Craft, Melissa Reef and husband Tim Lagle, brothers, Paul Reef and Brian “Doug” (Judy) Reef, and sister, Sheena Ferguson, 16 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Paul and Iris White, and his father-in-law.
James loved his family, hunting, fishing, loved sports, basketball, football,
golf and bowling, including bowling a 300 game.
Cremation was chosen, Cresthaven Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
