Donald Ray Fletcher

November 7, 1958 – April 9, 2021

Donald Ray Fletcher, 62, of Bedford, passed away at 3:09 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at I. U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born November 7, 1958, in Little Rock, AR, he was the son of Robert and Lucille (Coffman) Fletcher. He was a Highway Technician with the Department of State Highway. He was baptized in the Christian faith and always a helping hand to anyone in need. He cared deeply for his family, friends, and animals. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, gardening, and walks in various parks with his beloved dog, Shorty.

Survivors include a daughter, Mallory Brooke Simmons, and husband, Michael, of Bedford; a son, Joshua Lee Fletcher and fiancé, Christian Ortiz, of Chicago, Il; grandchildren, Brody Simmons and Adaly Simmons, both of Bedford; the mother of his children, Sherrlyn Fletcher, of Bedford; two sisters, Sheena Brown, and Connie Folk, both of Bedford; three brothers, Mike Fletcher (Tonda), of Mitchell, Greg Fletcher, of Bedford, and Larry Fletcher (Lynn), of Mitchell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved dog, Shorty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dixie DeVault, and a brother, Tim Fletcher.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
