Bedford Public Library handing out 1,500 trees

BEDFORD – The Bedford Public Library is handing out 1,500 trees today and tomorrow. The staff will be available until 6:00 p.m. each day until they run out.

Nathan Watson, Bedford Library Program Director hands out a tree and information on how to protect your plants from Cicadas.

Bedford Public Library is located at 1323 K Street in Bedford.

The trees available are Redbud and Gray Dogwood.

In addition to the trees, the Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation are providing seed kits to those who are interested. The LCSWC also provided posters and items for the children.

Lawrence County Soil and Water provided seeds and posters that are available while supplies last.

Information on how to protect your plants for the return of the Cicadas will also be available.

At this time more than 150 trees have been taken as of this afternoon.
