Farmers to Families Food Box Program Friday in Mitchell

MITCHELL – On Friday, families in need of food can drop by The Solution Center from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. (or until boxes run out) to pick up a free USDA Farmers to Families Food Box.

Approximately 1,000 families will be served.

According to officials, this is the last time they will receive a shipment this large, though they do expect shipments of more than 500 boxes to be distributed every Friday through Friday, April 23.

Please do not arrive early and there is no need to get out of your vehicle – Just pop the trunk or pull up and volunteers will load your free box of food.

Those accepting boxes do not need to show proof of residency or need.

Individuals and families accepting a free mixed food box are certifying that they are food insecure, lack money or other resources and are in need.

The Solution Center is located at 1490 West Main Street in Mitchell.

The event is hosted in collaboration with Jacob Finger United Methodist Church and The Solutions Center.
