Two Mitchell women arrested after stealing from Walmart

BEDFORD – Two Mitchell women were arrested after stealing from Walmart.

Bedford Police officers were called to the store on Saturday at 5:25 p.m. after a report of a group of females stealing items from the store.

The store’s asset protection associate told police the women were skip-scanning items at a self checkout register.

The employee also reported these same individuals were suspects in other thefts from the store.

Police stopped 24-year-old Jennifer Medrano, 20-year-old Kate Medrano and a 16-year-old female.

The two older women told police they knew they were shoplifting and they “were not thinking”.

They told police they just didn’t scan some of the items before placing them in a bag.

Jennifer told police they had done this on 10 different incidents. Kate said about 20 incidents. Both women said the teen had nothing to do with the thefts.

Both women were trespassed from the store and issued summons to appear in court on a charge of theft.

The teen was released to her father.

Police say the woman stole more than $57 in items.
