Farmers to Families Food Box Program Friday in Mitchell

MITCHELL – On Friday, families in need of food can drop by The Solution Center from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. (or until boxes run out) to pick up a free USDA Farmers to Families Food Box.

According to officials, last week the group ran out of boxes by 2:30 p.m. This week volunteers will have double the amount of boxes available. Please do not arrive early and there is no need to get out of your vehicle – Just pop the trunk or pull up and volunteers will load your free box of food.

Approximately 1,170 families will be served.

Those accepting boxes do not need to show proof of residency or need.

Individuals and families accepting a free mixed food box are certifying that they are food insecure, lack money or other resources and are in need.

The Solution Center is located at 1490 West Main Street in Mitchell.

The event is hosted in collaboration with Jacob Finger United Methodist Church and The Solutions Center.
