GEMS 2021 to be held virtually on April 10th, reserve a virtual booth

BLOOMINGTON – GEMS is for girls in grades 5th and 6th in Monroe County.  Girls will have the opportunity to work with female role models and enjoy the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The Foundation of Monroe Community Schools Corporation is sponsoring a virtual Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) event on April 10, 2021.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. until Noon via Canvas.

To create the Career Expo, officials will design fun interactive virtual rooms.  In these rooms girls can learn more about your STEM business and careers. 

The Career Expo will be open to all girls that register and they can tour the virtual rooms throughout the day.  Virtual Rooms can include your logo, description of your business, pictures, links to videos, and activities.

If you would like to participate in the Virtual Career Expo complete this google form.  The team will help you design a fun way to connect with the next generation of STEM professionals.

There are a great of presenters that will lead virtual sessions with the girls.  Girls will be put into groups and assigned four sessions.  The morning will include:

9:00-9:30 Intro Video, Virtual Career Expo
9:30-10:00 Session 1
10:10-10:40 Session 2
10:50-11:20 Session 3
11:30-12:00 Session 4
