Man rescued from flood waters on State Road 337

ORLEANS – A man was rescued from flood waters on State Road 337 east of Orleans Sunday afternoon.

The driver called the Orange County Sheriff’s Department dispatch on 9-1-1 at 12:39 p.m. reporting that he drove into flood waters on State Road 337 and needed help getting out.

Emergency personnel from Orange County Rural District #2 Fire Department, Orleans Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and Orange County EMS responded to the scene.

There were no injuries reported.

Indiana Department of Transportation was contacted to place road closure signs at the location.

Officials want to remind motorists to never drive into flooded roadways, “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”.
