Governor Extends Order Limiting Crowd Size and Mask Wearing

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Governor Eric Holcomb said Wednesday he will extend the executive order limiting crowd sizes based on a given Indiana county’s COVID-19 risk level.

The executive order will be extended for another 30 days including the order to continue to wear masks.

“From where we were a month ago to where we are today is remarkable,” Governor Holcomb said.

Holcomb continued to praise the state’s progress in positivity and hospitalizations, but said the world will be watching Indiana as we head into March Madness.

Dr. Kristina Box cited another week of significant improvement in positivity, and said hospitalizations are at 100 daily average admissions, when they were at 500 in late November and early December

Lawrence and surrounding counties are currently in blue status.

Each color comes with a limit on gathering size.

  • Blue – 250 people
  • Yellow – 100 people
  • Orange – 50 people
  • Red – 25 people

As of Wednesday, no county is in red.
