(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested early this morning after a Bedford Police officer stopped a Chevrolet Trailblazer on State Road 37.

Kristi Westerfield

Police arrested 37-year-old Kristi Westerfield, of Allen TX., on charges of dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and trafficking with an inmate. They also arrested 34-year-old Brandon Durbin, of Salem, on charges of dealing cocaine, and possession of cocaine.

Brandon Durbin

According to a probable cause affidavit, at 12:54 a.m. the officer noticed the vehicle weaving within its lane of travel. The driver Durbin was stopped at State Road 37 and River Bluff Road.

Officers asked Durbin permission to search the vehicle and he denied that request. K-9 Zazu was requested to the scene and alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a burnt rolled marijuana cigarette, where Westerfield was sitting. A black zipper bag was found clipped to wiring on the driver’s side of the vehicle.  In the bag, police found a clear plastic wrapper that contained 101.56 grams of cocaine.

Both denied the cocaine belonged to them. Both were arrested.

At the jail, officers found Westerfield with a glass smoking pipe that contained meth, adding the additional charge of trafficking with an inmate.
