BPD SWAT Team Make Arrests After Receiving Tip

(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested for possession of and dealing meth after Bedford Police officers received a tip that residents at 927 24th Street were dealing drugs.

Officers secured a search warrant and the Bedford Police Swat Team served that warrant at 8:54 p.m. Sunday night.

Officers entered the home on 24th Street on their own, after knocking to enter with no response from the occupants of the home.

When police entered the home they found 50-year-old Melissa Wilson and 50-year-old Shawn Wilson sitting on the couch.

Officers then questioned the two about where the drugs were located.

Melissa replied she had meth was in her pocket. Officers found 24 empty baggies, a cut straw, and two additional baggies that contained 2.19 grams of meth concealed in an Altoids container in her pocket.

Other baggies of meth, three digital scales, and several smoking devices were found in the couple’s bedroom.

In another bedroom police found more smoking devices, four more baggies of meth, three plastic spoons and another digital scale. The smoking devices had burnt marijuana residue inside.

Police also recovered a syringe.

Both were arrested on charges of dealing meth, possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
