Charlene B. See, 68, of Martinsville, died at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born October 27, 1952, in Lee County, Virginia, she was the daughter of
Charles and Lois (Yeary) Ely. She married James See on March 24, 1985.
Charlene attended Oolitic Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter, a
member of the Avoca Baptist Quilters, and loved teaching others how to
quilt.
Survivors include her husband, James See; mother, Lois Ely of Oolitic;
and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by
her father, Charles Ely.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February
10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor
Lewis Seward officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory
Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 9th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to either
Riley Children’s Hospital or Lawrence County Humane Society.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing are
required. Attendance is limited to 100 people at a time.
