MCCSC Students Reading to The Final Four

(BLOOMINGTON) – Read to the Final Four is a reading competition encouraging 3rd Graders to log the most minutes reading and make the top 68 schools in the state.

The program uses a digital literacy platform, powered by Renaissance myON®, to provide access to books and track time spent reading.

The top schools throughout Indiana were on selected Jan. 29 during an official selection show to advance to the final bracket-style competition.

Several Monroe County Community School Corporation Elementary Schools made it in the bracket.

They are:

  • Quinn Buckner Region: #2 University Elementary with 46,275 minutes read
  • Katie Douglas Region: #11 Unionville Elementary with 12,620 minutes read
  • Katie Douglas Region: #13 Grandview Elementary with 28,717 minutes read
  • Katie Douglas Region: #4 Arlington Heights Elementary with 24, 434 minutes

One Grandview classroom went live during the Selection Show. You can watch the whole Selection Show here. Ms. Kara Quimby’s class is featured starting at 37.30.

Teams will then advance based on the number of minutes read during each week, with the Final Four schools celebrated during the 2021 Final Four festivities April 3 and 5 in Indianapolis.
