Bloomington Police Seeking Public’s Help in Locating Murder Suspect

(BLOOMINGTON) – Bloomington Police Department is investigating the murder of 32-year-old Teresa Michael, of Bloomington.

On January 28th at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers with the Bloomington Police Department responded to an apartment building in the 500 block of South Basswood Drive in reference to a fire.

Members of the Bloomington Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire but located an unresponsive woman inside the apartment where the fire had originated.

That woman was 32-year-old Teresa Michael, of Bloomington. Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields said Michael’s died from manual strangulation and ruled her death a homicide.

Police are looking for 30-year-old Eric Quentin Johnson in connection with Michael’s murder.

Johnson is 5’10”, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Police say, Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should not attempt to approach him, but should immediately call 911 if he is spotted. 

Investigators are also attempting to locate Michael’s vehicle a silver 2007 Dodge Caliber with Indiana license plate number 619DNS.

Anyone with information about the murder or information about the whereabouts of Eric Johnson or the missing vehicle is asked to call Detective Chris Scott at 812-349-3382.

Detective Scott is asking anyone that may have seen any suspicious activity in the parking lot of the apartment complex in the 500 block of South Basswood Drive on January 28th to call. Callers may remain anonymous.
