Two Arrested After Driver Hits Mailbox and Flees Scene

(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested Sunday night after Bedford Police were alerted to a possible intoxicated driver in a blue Lincoln traveling southbound on State Road 37 from 16th Street.

Police then received a 911 call from a man reporting a person driving a blue Lincoln  just struck his mailbox in the 2930 block of Broadview Drive.

Officers searched the Ted Jones area but were unable to locate the vehicle.  

Officers did have a license plate number and were able to trace the owner of the vehicle to a residence in the 2110 block of Norton Lane.

Officers went to the home and found the vehicle parked in the driveway. The vehicle did have damage.

Officers could not get anyone to answer the door but could see a male through the window.

A few minutes later the owner of the vehicle, 22-year-old Sarah Kinser returned home with another female.

Officers entered the home to speak to all involved. On a dresser in plain view officers found two empty baggies that tested positive for meth residue.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for the home. 

Kinser was permitted to use the restroom when she requested to so , since the bathroom had already been searched with nothing found. Once Kinser exited the bathroom, officers again searched the bathroom. This search uncovered four used syringes, three spoons with Heroin/Fentanyl residue in the trash can. Kinser told the officer she placed the items in the can when she used the bathroom because she was scared.

In Tab Morris’ bedroom officers located a backpack that contained a Crown Royal bag. Inside that bag, officers found used syringes and a cigarette pack. Inside the cigarette pack was a plastic bag that contained meth.

In Kinser’s bedroom, officers located a metal grinder containing marijuana.

Kinser was asked about the accident and at first, denied being involved. She then later admitted to striking something.

Morris is facing charges of possession of meth and unlawful possession of a syringe. 

Kinser faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a narcotic drug, obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana.
