ISP Search Warrant Leads to Meth Arrests in Oolitic

(OOLITIC) – On Thursday, Indiana State Police Sergeant Greg Day and Trooper Robert Whyte, with the assistance of the US Marshals Service, attempted to locate a missing juvenile from Indianapolis. A tip was received that he juvenile may be at a residence in the 800 block of Smith Avenue in Oolitic.

While there, officers saw drug paraphernalia and meth in plain view inside of a garage.

The officers detained three adult males.

Indiana State Police applied for a search warrant which was granted by Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline.

Officers executed that warrant and found 8 grams of meth, smoking devices, digital scales and other drug related items.

Dakota Stinson

Police arrested 26-year-old Dakota Stinson, of Mitchell, on charges of possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of drug paraphernalia with a prior conviction.

Also arrested were 26 -year-old Skyler Shoemaker, of Bedford, and 19-year-old Tory Thompson, of Washington, on charges of possession of meth over 5 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three were incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail. 

The missing juvenile was not found at the home.

ISP was assisted by the following agencies: Oolitic Town Marshal Jon Jeffries and Lawrence County Sheriff Department Officers Andrew Phillips, Lonnie Johnson, and Robin Compton.
