Rep. Banks was also elected to serve on the Republican Steering Committee, which is responsible for assigning other Republican members to House committees. In addition, Rep. Banks was elected Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, which is the largest caucus in Congress, for the next two years.

“I look forward to working closely with ranking members Mike Rogers, Virginia Foxx, and Mike Bost, as well as the three Democrat Chairmen,” said Jim Banks. “Over the past two years, I learned a lot about these three committee seats and their value to northeast Indiana. I know they’ll position me as an effective advocate for Hoosier values and interests – and that’s why I’m glad to be back.”
