Obituary: Bruce Allen Buzek

May 3, 1954 – January 16, 2021

Bruce Allen Buzek, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, January 16th at Community Hospital North, in Indianapolis.

Born May 3,1954, Bruce was the oldest child of Clyde and Mildred Buzek, Indianapolis, Indiana. Growing up, he became an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying camping and boating.

As an aspiring Eagle Scout in high school, Bruce established a Scout troop in rural Indiana dedicated to these two favorite activities.

After graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington, Bruce continued what would become a lifelong interest in building, opening his own business, Buzek Construction, in 1989.  Bruce was well respected for construction, design and project management with “his hands and heart”,  like his father before him.

Bruce eventually built his own home in the forested land beyond of the city of his business in Bedford, Indiana.

Bruce lived his life for his daughter and grandsons, as well as his family and friends. He was always up for an adventure and loved spending his time in nature, especially with those he loved.

He chose his final resting place nearby at Pinkston Hill, facing west and opening onto the vista he so loved and would visit often.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Sandi Jarboe; brother, Brian Buzek; nephew, Justin Jarboe; great nephew, Silus Jarboe; daughter, Alyssa Prince; son-in law, Josh Prince and two grandsons, Blake and Braxton.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. Friends and family are invited to the committal service at 2:00 P.M. at Pinkston Hill Cemetery in Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sycamore Land Trust.
