No School Monday for NLCS Students

NLCS

(BEDFORD) – On Monday, January 18th, North Lawrence Community School students do not have school in observation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Middle and high school students with the last name beginning with A-K will attend in-person on Tuesday and Thursday. Students with the last name beginning with L-Z will attend in-person on Wednesday and Friday.

Students will then return with a normal hybrid schedule for the week of January 25th through Friday, January 29th.

NLCS officials will give an update on Thursday, January 28 after reviewing the most recent Lawrence County metrics, NLCS metrics, and evaluate state testing at BNL.

Elementary schools will continue with in-person learning five days a week.

If there are any middle or high school students that are in need of academic assistance or WiFi during this period of hybrid learning they may attend school daily. Students in self-contained classrooms will continue daily in-person learning.

While Lawrence County remains in level red BNL will continue to limit attendance to only participants, support personnel, and immediate family members for sporting events.  No tickets will be sold to the public.  Oolitic Middle School and Bedford Middle School will postpone events and practices while the county status remains in red.
