Bedford Police Officer Clay Blackburn Named Officer of the Year

(BEDFORD) – Congratulations to Bedford Police Officer Clay Blackburn who was named the department’s 2020 Merit Officer of the year.

“This is an internal program based on evaluations of officers in their knowledge of work, quality of work, initiative, dependability, interpersonal skills, attitude, attendance, and appearance,” said Chief Terry Moore.

Officer Maxwell Meddings was named the department’s Officer of the Month for the month of December.

“Your work ethic and willingness to perform your duty to protect and serve or any task given are a much-deserved department acknowledgment,” said Chief Moore.

Congratulations to dispatcher Cayla Mcintosh, who was named dispatcher of the quarter. Mcintosh stepped up during the holiday season by working extra shifts and working different days than her regular schedule.

“This unselfishness demonstrated her willingness to provide the citizens of Bedford and our department continued support,” said Chief Moore.
