Linda Henderson New Executive Director for StoneGate Arts Education Center

(BEDFORD) – The Board of Directors of the StoneGate Arts & Education Center announced the selection of Linda Henderson as the Center’s Executive Director. Henderson, a life-long resident of Lawrence County replaces Gene McCracken who retired at the end of 2020.

The Board conducted an extensive search and interview process throughout November and December after being notified of McCracken’s intention to retire.

“Linda rose to the top of a very good pool of candidates and we’re happy to have her on board to lead StoneGate”, stated Jamie Blackwell, StoneGate Board President.

Henderson has more than twenty years of experience working with communities on capacity building, strategic planning, and workforce development. She has also served as an adjunct instructor for Ivy Tech Community
College, Oakland City University, and Vincennes University.

“Linda’s experience as an instructor with each of our three current college partners will be very valuable in this new role”, Blackwell stated.

“I am excited about the future of StoneGate Education and Arts Center”, says Henderson. “I have been a longtime advocate of helping folks attain their educational and workforce goals. I am excited about the opportunity to serve our community in this capacity.”

Henderson assumed the role of Executive Director on Monday, January 11.
