(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana Treasurer of State Kelly Mitchell announces that Ian Hauer has been hired as the office’s Communications Director.
In this role, Hauer will oversee all internal and external communications related to the Treasurer’s Office, including press releases, speeches, constituent outreach, and social media. Prior to joining the Treasurer’s Office, he served four years as Deputy Communications Director for Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson, assisting with communications for the Indiana Election Division, Business Services Division, Securities Division, and Auto Dealer Services Division. He has also worked in various capacities for former Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann, the Indiana State Senate, and Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke.
“I am delighted to have Ian join the Treasurer’s Office in this capacity,” said Treasurer Mitchell. “His breadth of experience in state government will be of great value to our team. We are excited to welcome him aboard as we continue to serve Hoosiers in 2021 and beyond.”
Hauer earned his bachelor’s degree from IUPUI in 2014. Raised in Newburgh, he lives in Noblesville with his wife.
