Jamie Renee Callahan Ritter, 64, of Bedford passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born October 28, 1956, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Everett and Mildred Callahan. She married Larry Ritter on August 9, 1975, and he survives. Jamie was a member of the Judah Church of Christ and was known for her kindness and compassion. She devoted her life to being a Christian, housewife, raising her three kids, and being a wonderful wife of 45 years to her husband, Larry. She worked as a secretary for Dr. Stephen Hammel at Hammel Chiropractic for 26 years. She led young ladies’ Bible classes in her home, kids’ classes at church, and taught her grandsons about the Lord. She dearly loved her grandchildren. She was an excellent artist, known for her paintings on saws and other items.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; children, John (Stacy) Ritter, Chad (Sharon) Ritter, all of Bedford, and Magen (Neil) Craig, of Indianapolis; a brother, Jim Callahan, of Bedford; grandchildren, Reese Ritter, Chase Ritter, Reid Ritter, Austin Ritter, and Isaiah Hammel who was like a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Keevin Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23 rd and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jamie’s memory to the Judah Church of Christ.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing are required. Attendance is limited to 50 people at a time.
