Two People Injured In Accident Sunday

(BEDFORD) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 18th and M streets on Sunday night.

According to a Bedford Police report, when police arrived on the scene they found 52-year-old Kelly Grace, of Bedford, unconscious in her vehicle.

“Entry had to be made into the car to gain access to the driver and render her medical attention,” the report states.

She was freed from the wreckage and transported to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

According to police, 48-year-old Paul Skiff, of Hastings, Michigan was traveling north on M Street in a 2018 Western Star tractor-trailer owned by Supreme Equipment Company out of Longmont, Colorado.

A 2020 Load truck trailer, owned by David Sheldon, of Bedford, was parked on M Street.

Skiff told police he had the green light and proceeded through the intersection and struck Grace’s 2007 Toyota Camry.

A witness to the accident told police he was traveling east on 18th Street from the west side of the intersection. He stated Grace had the green light.

Another witness also told police Grace had the green light.

An officer went to the hospital to talk to Grace. She told police she was traveling north on M Street and did not remember anything that happened after that.

Skiff was treated on the scene and refused to be transported to a hospital. He was transported to IU Health for a blood-draw. Grace also submitted to a blood-draw. Both results are pending.
