(BEDFORD) – On Tuesday night, Bedford Firefighter Department Local 728 was able to bring Christmas early to 31 kids in the local area.
Members of Bedford Fire Department Local 728 and some of their family members took part in the annual shopping trip for Christmas at the Bedford Walmart.
“With 2020 being a rough year on all of us, members chose to double the number of kids we are usually are able to buy for,” said Dane N. Fountain, Bedford firefighter and organizer of the event.
“We could not have pulled this off without all the support we have received from the community and from the people and businesses in our area,” said Fountain.
The Bedford firefighters open golf outing that took place in October helped support Tuesday’s event. Eighteen teams competed in that event.
“This is the biggest fundraiser for kid’s Christmas,” said Fountain.
Bedford Firefighters Local 728 would like to thank Walmart for their support in this project.
