Jasper Police Investigating Shooting That Ended With Two Men Dying From Their Injuries

(JAPSER) – Indiana State Police are investigating an incident where two men exchanged gunfire and both died from their injuries.

Troopers received a 911 call at 2:15 a.m. Saturday reporting gunfire exchanged on Rhine Strasse near the 47th Street intersection.

Police arrived on the scene and identified an injured man as 19-year-old Andres Lopez, of Owensboro, Kentucky.

While on the scene police received a second call reporting a second man was at Jasper Memorial Hospital being treated for a gunshot wound. He was identified as 21-year-old Tre Carnahan, of Eckerty.  

Both men later died of their wounds.

Police say the incident occurred in Maple Grove Trailer Park and both men exchanged gunfire with handguns. 

The incident remains under investigation.
