When asked about the promotions, Deputy Warden Michael Rains stated, “This is a strong group of sergeants; their knowledge and experiences with the Department of Correction will directly benefit the staff they work with and the department as a whole.”

Each of the recently promoted staff participated in a competitive process, which was the result of their desire to take on additional duties and responsibilities with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC).  Supervision and mentoring of correctional staff will be part of their new duties in their continuing careers.

“It speaks highly of anyone who seeks to grow in their career and is willing to seek additional responsibility”, said Warden Dushan Zatecky.  “Each of these new sergeants possess varied skill sets that will serve them well in their new assignment as a supervisor.” Zatecky concluded, “I look forward to seeing each of them grow in their new role and am confident of their success.”
