(WASHINGTON) – Due to COVID-19 the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Washington regret to announce that the annual Christmas parade, normally scheduled for early December has been canceled this year.
Officials released the following statement:
“The Christmas Parade has been a long-time tradition for our community and while we are very disappointed to cancel we also recognize that virtually every activity associated with it produces undue risk; from building floats and featuring bands and walking groups to simply standing on the streets watching. Overall, it is in the best interest of the citizens and community to cancel this year’s parade.”
