Obituary: Mary C. Pritchett

May 11, 1934 – October 28, 2020

Mary C. Pritchett, 86, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at her residence.

Born May 11, 1934, she was the daughter of Enoch and Zelma (Allen) Patton.  She married William Harry Darcus and he preceded her in October of 1996.  She then married Austin “Pete” Pritchett and he survives.   

Mary was self-employed and attended Leatherwood Christian Church.

Mary had many animals that were a big part of her life and she loved them unconditionally.  She loved gardening and had the most beautiful flower beds that she kept and maintained until she was 84 years old.  Mary also loved her children and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could.  

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Austin “Pete” Pritchett of Bedford; two daughters, Debra (Kevin) Stailey of Bedford and Cindy (Dennis) Hardin of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Lindsey Faubion, Catherine Hays and Marcus Hays; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Lexi Faubion; two step-children, Aaron (Julie) Pritchett and Kristin (Steve) Messmore; five step-grandchildren, McKenzie Messmore, Austin Messmore, Ben Pritchett, Kirby Stailey and Kurt Stailey; several step-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Sue Wilhite, Phyllis Parker and Judy McCart; and several nieces and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Harry Darcus; one sister; one brother; and two sisters-in-law.    

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes with Pastor Sherman Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Judah Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel prior to the time of service on Saturday.
